"I am experimenting upon an instrument which does for the eye what the phonograph does for the ear, which is the recording and reproduction of things in motion ...."

Motion Picture (Film)
Motion picture is a series of images that are sequenced in an accelerated form. Once projected, the pictures are moved on a wheel and then appear to move. The machine that creates motion picture was called the “wheel of life” and was first credited by William Lincoln in 1895 even though it was said to have been invented in 1867.
Even though William Lincoln was credited for the invention. He used tin foil, lead, or wax on which a stylus etched grooves on a cylinder to create sounds. Although Lincoln was credited for this, Thomas Edison successfully demonstrated it for an audience. Edison had created a collection of 341 films, including 127 titles that are available in American Memory motion picture genres.
Though motion picture was not perfected yet, it still got its point across. After the 1920s' film began to develop. It was not until 1927 that sound films were made; this was done by Warner Bros. After sound was integrated into films, it was not until a few years later when Technicolor used color in its films. Even though color was used in pictures that were paintings or dyed, this made a big (wc) on society.
Today, the quality of film is drastically changing every moment. For example, we can view 3D films at the movies or now we have 3D televisions to view the 3D movies on. Not only can we view films in 3D but some in IMAX theaters that are widened views of the movie.
