The First Steel Plow
The first steel plow was invented in 1837 by John Deere. The invention assisted in the planting of much needed crops by farmers by acted as it would rip through prairie ground. The first plow consisted of wrought iron and had a steel share that would cut directly into soil without clogging. By 1885, after Deere received a patent, he was selling an average of 10,000 steel plows a year. Finally, by 1868, John Deere's business then became perceived as "Deere & Company" and the company still runs strong in modern times innovating in any ways in order to make farmers and our lives easier.
